Sewing and Fitting with Lauren

Service Description

Whether you are a new sewer or experienced, in this class you will learn new skills and hacks to make your projects not yell “Home made” and look like they were professionally made for you. We will cover pattern fitting and sizing, working with different body areas that make off the rack clothing never fit quite right. We will learn how to serge and how to machine hem. Your pattern and fabric will be provided as we will be making T-Shirts and your first one from class will be used as a prototype to make additional adjustments on if needed so you end up with a perfect fitted pattern to use over and over. There will be men’s patterns available, as well as women’s and children’s. The class will be taught in two 3 hour sessions. You may bring your own serger or use one provided by makerspace. The second session will be arranged with students to meet their schedule needs.
